You can also use mri_binarize, like
mri_binarize --dilate-vertex vno lh.white radius out.mgz
where radius is the radius in mm. This will start with your seed vertex, then keep adding vertices in a ring until the desired area (pi*r^2) is hit

Hi Jason

There are morphological tools built into freeview, so you could select a single vertex, make a label from it, then dilate it as many times as you want. That will of course give you the graph distance not the actual surface geodesic, but might be good enough?

Cheers

Bruce

Hi Freesurfers,

I would like to generate a label that extends some distance from a chosen vertex on the surface. Is this possible in the freeview gui? Otherwise?

Many thanks for you feedback.

Best,

Jason
