Hi Mateusz
I am only going to speak to one point at the moment.

I will resist pointing out some considerable confusion by the above statement,
simply asking why you believe this is true?

I tried at several occasions to use a computer being blindfolded. I am able to
create a simple text file, answer a short email and consult a wikipedia
article. All this came with a huge strugle, took a long time and inevitably led
to frustration. I would certainly not be able to perform any kind of complex
configuration or system setup. I am sure that blind people are much more agile
than me in such environment, hence my experience is hardly comparable to a real
blind person using a PC, but still I doubt that it is reasonable to expect from
a blind user to setup a DOS virtual machine, configure its serial port in an
unusual way, compile and load emubns, and fiddle with the Piper installation.
All this on a Linux host.
..that must have been a unique experience for you.

What this choice on your part has to do with the experience of sight loss or blindness for the majority is something I struggle to understand..at all. And some people wonder why I often start to scream at the term blind people applied uniformly.
A couple of world health organization facts for you.
in 2023, there were an estimated 2.2 billion individuals on the planet living with blindness. of that number perhaps 18% of them might experience the kind of darkness you sought to simulate with that blindfold effort of yours.
do the math.
No matter how well intention, for the sake of the scientists and engineers living in that 18% arena, please do not project that test of yours on to another human being. certainly do not let it influence your understanding of computer use let alone anything else.
Well intention? Absolutely, and I respect your intent.
Reasonably accurate?
no.
After all the second part of Blazy is engineering, the man behind the bns you used for this effort of yours. One of the other engineers who experiences blindness on the Linux list raised the point that Piper had latency issues, is that true for your effort?

Karen
