Hi Dale,

FAT32 has too large metadata to be convenient
to handle for CHKDSK. Because of this, it is
only supported by DOSFSCK, which requires a
386 or newer CPU and several MB of free RAM.

It has been a while since DOSFSCK got ported
to DOS, but I think you will be fine with the
older version which FreeDOS is still using :-)

Of course, if anybody feels like backporting
the newest DOSFSCK version (from the Linux
dosfstools) to DOS, I am happy to provide
a bit of advice and support. No time to do
the actual update myself any soon, sorry.
