IMO these two should work well: 1) Epson WorkForce AL-M300D: A4/Letter laser printer, USB+paralel, duplex printing, ESC/P|ESC/P2|PCL5 printer languages (which are well supported in DOS apps). 2) HP LaserJet P2035: A4/Letter laser printer, USB+paralel, duplex printing, supports Host Based Printing (not suitable for DOS) and PCL5 printer languages (which is widely well supported in DOS apps). I personally run DOS under DOSEMU emulator in Linux, and then printing from DOS apps is possible for all printers supported in Linux (by converting DOS PCL5 output to Postscript).
