Bad idea unless you have Desqview also, esp. since DR-EMM386 is
required (!) for any multitasking. It has some serious black magic
going on (in the form of several embedded .vxd drivers or some other
complex stuff that I never dared to pretend to understand).

If multitasking is that critical, I suggest setting up a config.sys
that will let her boot between various setups (e.g. plain XMS w/ no
multitasking) at least for stability in case something wigs out when
multitasking.

There's also the option to boot a USB drive, but since it's a
"slightly older" machine, she'll probably need a boot floppy (i.e.
PLoP boot manager). Or she could boot a Linux liveCD. I haven't tried
lately, but at least Fedora 14 (before GNOME 3) seemed reasonable, and
their USB installer let you save persistent changes (unlike a liveCD).
But DOSEMU isn't in any "official" Fedora repo, so she'll have to grab
it via RPMfind (and set a few things) for optimal use.

It really comes down to what she wants to do with her machine and her
current skills. I guess that's your job to find out. ;-)
