Thanx for the help. I found some info in Vmware help. "The mtmcdai.sys driver works fine and it can be found on www.mitsumi.com: under Drivers and Manuals look for ide158.exe. You will need to add the following modification to the config.sys and autoexec.bat files on your boot floppy (along with the mscdex.exe file)"
I used MTMCDAI.SYS in config.sys, but then used SHSUCDX in autoexec.bat and I successfully mapped D: to the cdrom. I am using VMware 4.0.5 Here are the details: in CONFIG.SYS: device=c:\fdos\bin\mtmcdai.sys /d:fdcd0001 in AUTOEXEC.BAT: if exist FDCD0001 c:\fdos\bin\shsucdx d:/fdcd0001 Thanx. -- Bad Metaphor/Simile #412: The neon sign reflected off his gun, like the moonlight reflects off my brother-in-law's bald head after a night of beer drinking and cow-tipping. www.GCFL.net (The Good, Clean Funnies List): Good, clean funnies five times a week, no ads, for f_r_e_e! ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by EclipseCon 2004 Premiere Conference on Open Tools Development and Integration See the breadth of Eclipse activity.
