It is a fairly standard onboard Promise 20376 controller. Perhaps I

You need freebsd-5.x for that to work, the promise pdc203xx chips are
not supported by the ATA driver in -stable (and probably wont be)...
Ok, what then if I buy a Promise TX2 card for it? Will I be able to use that card as third IDE controller? (I know the TX2 is on the hardware compatibility list). Just making sure now; I'm tired of surprises.
You need to get a controller with the old pdc202xx chip family on it,
the Ultra133 TX2 is one of them.
