There is no way I can predict what Adobe will do in the future, but since the company seems to have decided that RIAs are not a strategic focus, it would be strange for it to flip-flop and decide "Whoops, yes they are."

The focus of the new VM is gaming. That doesn't mean we couldn't leverage gaming enhancements for a rapid application development framework.
