ncftp will do that. Use "ncftp" in place of "ftp."

Konqueror is pretty nice in that you can split the pane, one being
the remote site, the other being local directories, and drag and drop
between 'em. It uses the ftp://host url style, or
ftp://username[:password]@host (Optional password).
gftp is also a great client, similar to ws_ftp for windors.
