Allright, I don't know if I unstand this any better this time, but I think I
can guess at something...
Is your windows box the one that connects to the internet? Adn, are you
trying to connect you linux box to the internet using the Windows box as
follows?
Internet <--- Windows Box <--- Linux Box
If so, you are going to need to purchase (or hack) some windows-based proxy
software.
If you reverse the setup, you can do it for free
(eg: Internet <-- Linux <--windows)
NetBEUI is not going to do any harm to your network as long as you have
TCP/IP enable for the Network Interfaces on BOTH machines. Although, NetBEUI
does broadcast a great deal and clutters things up.
Do this:
Give us the following information (you are allowed to use "x"s to hide IP
address numbers)
Windows Box:
External Interface type, External Protocol setup (IP, Subnet mask, Gateway,
DNS)
Internal Interface Type (hopefully a NIC), Protocol Setup (see above)
Linux Box:
External Interface type, External Protocol setup (IP, Subnet mask, Gateway,
DNS)
Internal Interface Type (hopefully a NIC), Protocol Setup (see above)
If you can, draw a diagram of what you network looks like.
