A -J is a journal file written during delivery not
during reception. That argues against those files being directly
associated with the incoming connection seen with exiwhat - but could imply
that a delivery process was hard-killed by systemd.
That might result in a duplicate delivery, but should not result
in a lost message... but does not explain the lack of a -D file.
The lack of content in the -J implies no delivery had completed, in
the delivery process writing that file.

Are there any log entries for this message-id?

Looking at the -H would be interesting. Do the headers imply it was a bounce?
