When I had this problem, it was due to a bug in WebkitGTK. To fix, you need to have WEBKIT_FORCE_SANDBOX set to 0, as in:
WEBKIT_FORCE_SANDBOX=0 evolution That solved it for me. You should be able to search for related articles regarding WEBKIT_FORCE_SANDBOX and Evolution.
