Eva,
I've had this problem as well. It's the old "White screen of death"
issue. I've found that it happens if you introduce hatch after using the
staff client. If you use the staff client (I.E. your browser cache
contains a fair amount of Evergreen history) and then install hatch, we
see the White Screen of Death.
Luckily, we know how to solve it: clear browser cache. If you're lucky,
a hard refresh will take care of it (CTRL+SHIFT+R) but most of the time
it requires a browser cache destroy. You can do this via the browser
"Clear history" routine. But that will delete all* of the other settings
for other websites. It's possible to sniper the cache for just the
Evergreen staff client.
You can do this by:
1. Navigate your browser to the Evergreen staff client login page.
2. Press F12 to open Dev tools
3. Firefox: click "Storage", Chrome click "Application"
4. Firefox: Cache Storage -> {URL} -> "upup-cache-{date}" (Right click
-> Delete all). Do this for all* of the tree nodes. Chrome: Click
"Storage" -> "Clear site data"
Close the browser and open it again. This should* return the staff
client to default. You'll probably need to re-enable hatch via
Workstation Settings.

I've discovered there's an order to installation that's critical for
Hatch to work correctly.
1) Install printer drivers
2) Install Hatch
3) Activate the Hatch Chrome extension
4) Configure Evergreen
That, in my experience, maximizes the chances that everything will
talk nicely.

When we've seen this (on both Windows 10 and 11) it usually means
that it's not communicating with Java properly.
We don't have the capacity to do direct desktop support for our
libraries, so we typically recommend that they completely
uninstall Hatch and clear all Hatch workstation settings, then
reinstall starting with the current JDK first before reinstalling
Hatch.

Hi all,
During the installation of new computers with the Windows 11
operating system, I encountered an issue with the Evergreen
Staff Client Hatch printer settings in the Chrome browser
(actually, I also tried it in Firefox with the same result).
If I install and activate Hatch in the browser, the result is
that the Evergreen interface disappears except for the green
bar with the menu at the top (see attachment
Printer-Hatch.png). Unfortunately, if the Hatch extension is
not enabled in the browser, any attempt to print in the
Evergreen interface first opens a print dialog box, and it is
necessary to select a printer on the fly, which is not very
convenient for library services workflow. Also, we need to set
up two different printers for various printing contexts.
We have not came across such a problem on computers running
Windows 10 (i.e., when Hatch is installed in the Chrome
browser and activated, Evergreen works normally and I can
easily pick the printer I want - see the attachment
Printer-Hatch2.png).
Has anyone else noticed a similar problem? Or did I miss
something about printing and Hatch?
We are currently on Evergreen version 3.13.
Thank you in advance for any advice or help.
