I don't know of another auto industry bigwig who generates anywhere near as

it's hurting Tesla's sales.
You also need to take into account that Tesla is currently making a big
change to their best selling EV, the Model Y.
Production lines at all 4 factories are currently being changed, and
aren't producing the old version.
This does reduce sales considerably.
Ignoring the Optimus Robot, Tesla Energy systems is growing FAST - and
is also quite profitable.
It is also likely that the Tesla Robotaxi will go into production and on
the road this year. (Note that NTSB is one of the agencies that has been
screwed by DOGE, so Autonomous Vehicle pushback from them may be limited.)
Tesla and BYD are the only ones actually making a profit on their EV's.
(and the BYD numbers are somewhat fishy smelling when analyzed)
All the EU (and US) legacy car makers are having lack-of-sales-growth
issues, AND are loosing money on every EV.
Combine that with dropping Gas car sales, and EU car factories running
at well below capacity means that those companies are loosing money in
general.
VW is cutting EV production until they get their "new platform" ready -
which is at least 2 years away.
While Elon is a $#%^!@# disaster with DOGE, Tesla appears to be doing
quite well in spite of him.
It was generally expected that this quarter wouldn't be very good.
