I'm aware of the recall, they still didn't implement a mechanical interlock as REQUIRED by the standards. You can remove the NACS connector while the adapter is still locked in the car. Also, one drop onto pavement has been shown to destroy the adapter. If anything happens to your car that creates damage, your warranty is void by using a non-approved adapter that violates the safety standards. Since you already have it, just be careful. Never remove the NACS side until the adapter has been released from the car.
