No, it's just that it's cheaper to just buy a daily driver EV than to convert one. So, now, Conversions are generally unusual vehicles that are more unique, and done mainly for fun.
Even though I now own a Cybertruck, I'm currently re-converting my 95 F250 that I converted 16 years ago. The motors have failed, so I'm replacing the old DC drive with a Leaf motor system.
(for one thing, my F250 has a tilt-bed, so is a LOT nicer to use for dump runs!)
