Both vehicles will turn off the headlights (or radio or dome light etc.) if left on for more than ~15 minutes.
But... both had 12v accessory outlets that remained *on* when the car was off. Leaving a cellphone charger or other gadget plugged into them *would* run the battery down. Or, just leaving it parked for 2-3 weeks. And if the battery ran down below 9-10v, the "immobilizer" alarm would disable the vehicle completely. Charging the 12v battery didn't work, and it could not be jump started. Turning the key to the "start" position would crank and start the engine, but as soon as you release the key to "run", the engine stopped, and an alarm message was displayed. The only option was to have it towed to the dealer. No kidding! Lee -- Excellence does not require perfection. -- Henry James But it *does* require attention to detail! -- Lee Hart -- Lee A.
