My last trip, one of the contactors cut out twice while driving.
Then, when I got home, I found that the truck had developed a significant ground fault. (previously, it had been about 3ma - enough to sometimes trigger the J1772 shut off at some stations.)  At home, I just plug into a 14-50. (PFC-50 charger) After the trip, I plugged it in - and heard crackling!  Unplugged it, and started swearing.

I think the crackling was arcing across the semi-welded contacts in the bad contactor.

Replaced the Contactor yesterday.
That seems to have fixed everything, except the ground fault.
I put an AC milliameter (Fluke 87) in the ground line - it reads a 2.5 ma flow while charging. This is triggering the Fault detector on my portable J1772 unit (which works just fine to charge my friends Tesla.)

It appears that the GF is NOT caused by the little universal power supply that I use to power my truck monitor computer, as I tried disconnecting that and it made no difference.

Any ideas on why a 2.5ma GF triggers these units? I thought that "household" level was 5ma.
