If you read the datasheet, the 500 Ampere carry current rating is with
400 mcm (200mm2) conductors, basically very large busbars, to carry
heat away from the terminals.

I have almost never seen this adhered to. I had a battery testing
setup with 75mm2 cables and a pair of heatsinks and fan on the
terminals.
