Hi Dave etc,

I read that on Inside EVs & here's a similar & more current data today from
US News & World Report:

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, Tesla has over 1,600
Supercharger stations in the U.S., with over 17,000 fast-charging ports.
Electrify America is next in line, with about 800 stations and 3,600
fast-charging ports.

I'm only looking at the *fast chargers* that run on 480VAC-3 phase
industrial feed to drive across the country, not the *iffy* level-2 charging
stations on Plugshare.com for overnight charging.

I've driven (with my 21' Tesla-Y) up and down the least coast to the Florida
Keys, along the beaches and around the midwest for 92K miles.

When trying similar trips in the Bolt on 1/4 the Electrify America charging
stations (especially south), the results have been less than stellar. After
some bad experiences we *only* drive the Tesla now on long trips.

Also use in to towing the solar equipment (5x8' Lowes Trailer) to our
volunteer solar jobs & pulling my ski boat to various lakes from PA to NC
(at half range 160mi instead of 320). I would never attempt to take the
Leaf on a long trip. Until I hear some real data about Electrify America
(or similar) at least matching Tesla, I won't take the Bolt (or any
non-Tesla vehicle) on a long trip.

Have a renewable energy day,

Mark

Are those 12k / 4k numbers stations or charging points? Electrek says

183,000 points across the US as of 5/24, so I guess those are stations.

Isn't your Bolt, if not your Chademo-orphaned Leaf, supposed to be able to

use those superchargers with CSS adapters soon, maybe already? Or am I

wrong about that? I haven't been following US charging that closely

Here in France, we're at 127,000+ charging points on about 5.6% of the US's

land area. Only about 18% of those are fast DC, but that's most of what's

being built now.
