The US Dept of Energy (DOE) data seems to be a bit out of date. https://supercharge.info/charts lists 2,275 Tesla Supercharger sites, with 25,915 charging posts. Note: these numbers include 149 Urban Supercharger sites (72 kW max), with 1,922 charging posts. If we exclude the Urban Superchargers, we get 2,126 Superchargers, with 23,993 charging posts.
Maybe the DOE only includes V3 and V4 sites (these are 250kW - the earlier V2 are mostly 150kW, with a few at 120kW). V3 + V4 Superchargers is apparently 1,562 sites, with over 18,000 charging posts.
