Other thoughts: It's the holiday season, so maybe run a string of christmas lights out to a tree or pole next to where you park, so it's "decorative", not a "public nuisance".

Or, make your pole a flagpole, with a flag on top. But it can fold in the middle, so the top half becomes horizontal to reach out over your EV. The cord that pulls the flag up/down is really your charging cord.
