If it's in your budget, you might look for a 2016-2018 Renault Zoe ZE40. The battery is different from the Leaf's (though I think both are made by LG), and because of lighter weight and the larger 41kWh battery, the Zoe has significantly more range to start with. In summer you can expect 300km, and in winter 150-200km. The ZE22 batteries have proven to be fairly durable, even with air cooling, but it's probably too soon to tell for the ZE40s. Regardless, with your 55km commute, you would have plenty of room for degradation. The main challenge with used Zoes is finding one that includes the battery. When a Zoe sold new with a leased battery, that car is stuck with a leased battery until it goes to the boneyard.
