That would be a new development in Al-Air batteries.  I remember work done 
with Al-Air batteries by Alcan and Unique Mobility in the late 1980s.  The 
batteries (really more like fuel cells) didn't have the power output to keep 
up with the test car's needs, and had to be supplemented with lead batteries 
to handle peak loads.
