Ken,
Motors come in a wide variety of temp specs.
Some will be fine at a scorching 180 deg C
(that is 80 deg above water boiling temp!)
while others won't last long at such a temp.
So, the spec sheet is where you need to go.
After that, measure the actual temp to see
if you have a problem or not.

I  should look. I thought of spraying water mist on the outside for the magnet 
sake , but what temp does laquer or plastic insulation melt. ?
