Do you want the motor to be waterproof (rain, mud, ...) or not? If you leave it open (with *many* holes) then it can cool better but (like a DC motor) you better blow filtered/screened air through it if you want to avoid road debris, dirt, rain and stones to be eaten by the motor. If you drill a single hole and pour oil in then you are trying to do the "Prius" thing to get splash oil cooling on the motor? Note that it will not lower the temp of the case, since the outside surface remains the same, so it will get equally hot as before. The *only* possible difference is that the oil might help to move heat faster from windings to case, so the temp of internal motor parts may be lower than without oil. On the other hand, too much oil and you increase drag which is counter-productive, also depending how fast the motor turns and how smooth the rotating part is - a PM motor or an ACIM usually have very smooth rotor, so there is not as much added drag as a motor that has a wound rotor that will be hitting the liquid...
