There seem to be plenty expensive high-end bikes for enthusiasts, but only a few choices if any in e-bikes. The "greener" areas of the US sometimes have specialty e-bike shops, and they often sell on the internet too. A couple of examples are EVsNW in Seattle (which IIRC used to also offer 4-wheel EV components many years ago), and NYCEWheels in New York. (Incidentally, if e-bikes are allegedly "illegal" in NYC, how do you suppose NYCEWheels survives?)
