Yes, it is a judgement call, if it is not routine.  I suppose the agent can
decide, but usually they will show it to an underwriter and they do a
little broader research to see if the company has any guidance or
precedent.

That means don't tell whoever it is too much about the EV. Only tell them
what they ask.  Go to agents that are used to the unusual, hot rods,
antiques, weird imports, kit cars, etc.  Be nice - an antagonistic attitude
can queer any deal, and you are not the customer so much as a supplicant if
it is a non-routing policy.  You want the agent on your side in the
conversation with the underwriter.

Try different companies, obviously, and if you do get a quote don't feel
bad about trying to beat the price somewhere else - they are used to that,
but do it nicely.
