Hi Corbin,
It probably depends which unit you started with, which brand/model and
whether it had already been in service (outdoor exposed to elements,
corroding contacts without the regular used that is needed for a relay
to get the swiping action that keeps the contacts clean)
I had a similar issue with my EV truck (US Electricar) when I bought it
and installed batteries, I measured the pack switch at a resistance of
10 mOhm.
That does not seem a lot until you realize that at 250A, that means 2.5V
and 625 Watts of power in a simple disconnect switch (due to not being
used in years), so I opened it and cleaned it and verified that it was
below 1mOhm before relying on it in my battery pack. I suspect something
similar happened to your AVCON unit, but please give us the details
before issuing a sweeping statement that might not have any relation to
the unit that I sent to Lee.

Level 2 cord. You mentioned that you have some older Avcon charging
stations? What would it take to convert one of these to charge a Leaf?

contactors burn up or some other problem will happen. You should just
get the JuiceBox.
