Any suggestions on what could be happening? I’ve looked at everything and I’m
kinda stumped righ now.

Yes, the same error exists. The only time the Hyperlink works is when you hit
“Close Firefox” on the error. Firefox closes and another Firefox session
pop-ups. Firefox and Outlook do run in a special environment do to the nature
of our work….-no-remote is not added in the properties of the Firefox shortcut.
The firefox profile is located in Appdata\Roaming…since you use roaming
profiles. We haven’t had any issues with Hyperlinks in Outlook since v68.

(questions from the developer)

If they try launching Firefox a second time from their shortcut or whatever do
they get the same error?
Is Outlook or Firefox running in any kind of sandbox or other special
environment?

Also, can you right click on the Firefox icon and verify that -no-remote hasn't
ended up in the properties for launching somehow?

Here is a copy of the profiles.ini and intalls.ini. Once I close out of Firefox
when the error pops-up. Another instance of Firefox comes up and returns with
the Hyperlink I clicked on. From then on other Hyperlinks work.

Can you send me the file installs.ini from
Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox assuming it doesn't have any
sensitive data in it?

And also profiles.ini?

Thanks.

Do you only have one copy of Firefox installed? And is it set as the default
browser?

(Just want to make sure I have the same environment)

Hi Justin,
Can you elaborate on the network setup? Eg. is Firefox locally installed or
network, where is the profile located, using Citrix or the like, etc.

Good Morning,

This is a big issue for us. We can’t move forward with the deployment of
Firefox v68 without this being fixed. Before v68, this wasn’t an issue…what has
changed?

Doesn’t the –no-remote allow another Firefox process open with a new Firefox
profile? That’s not what we want. We want to be able to open a Hyperlink from
outlook in a new tab in a Firefox instance that’s already up.

Are you using -no-remote to launch your Firefox instance?

Good Morning,

When clicking on a Hyperlink in Outlook I get the following pop message
“Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process
must be closed to open a new window”. I haven’t seen this issue since updating
to Firefox v68 ESR. What could cause this issue? We have one default Firefox
profile that we’ve renamed “firefox.default”. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
