I'm surprised to see discussion of using setup.exe to update Firefox; last time I remember researching the subject, IIRC the documentation said that installing directly over top of an existing install was not guaranteed to work properly. For installs at my workplace, I have a setup in place which explicitly uninstalls the existing Firefox install first (using the installed uninstaller EXE), then installs the new one in its place (using setup.exe). That has some side effects in some circumstances, but is the most reliable solution I've managed to devise to date, and has been working for some years now.
