Thank you Sebastian. I had discounted this because it spoke of the XPI, and I assumed that because I wasn't working with the XPI that it didn't apply to me. But a hint from someone else that said the same thing caused me to look at this again and now everything is fixed. Instead of unpacking the XPI into a directory named with the ID of the XPI, in %PROGRAMFILES%, as I have done for years; if instead I rename the XPI and copy it, without unpacking it, to %PROGRAMFILES%, then everything works as it should. (Forget I mentioned ChatZilla and Places Maintenance, I assumed they were Mozilla add-ons bundled with Firefox but instead they were left over in my own %APPDATA%. It was so long since I'd dealt with them I'd forgotten about them, and foolishly wasn't testing with a fresh profile.) -- Pete Boyd Open Plan IT - http://openplanit.co.uk The Golden Ear - http://thegoldenear.org _______________________________________________ Enterprise mailing list [email protected] https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/enterprise To unsubscribe from this list, please visit https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/enterprise or send an email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe"
