It uses a number of encoders in the joints to calculate the position in 3D space of the tip of the arm. WI don't know the encoder type, they might be serial or quadrature. You need to know the kinematics geometry in some detail to accurately calculate the position from the encoder data > I am interested in finding what you want for it.
