2nd reply; Actually, going to the sellers site, he did have 1/16 radius roundovers for about a buck more each, so there are now 2 of those headed my way. Both 1/8" and 1/16" are in 1/2" shank. I'll remove the bearing and pilot of one to do this job. But from an attempt at using my jig, cut while I wasn't aware of the growwing backlash in my table, its apparent I will need to make another jig, and one not milled quite as deep. This one does not allow a full 1/16" access without shaving away the jig, and I don't have an adequate locator setup for this one either so it is not exactly a step and repeat. A job for either cherry or maple I think since I won't cry when I have to throw away a failure. Micarta is nice, but $pen$ive. :) Fun and games, being played with a sows ear mill. And its getting damned old. Grizzly has a bigger one that I might be able to wrangle a trip to PA to get. What do you folks think about the GO762? Currently on sale, sorta, for $2495. Looks like I'd have to build something similar to the Z drive on this one, or adapt the z drive I have now to run that as I get the impression that handle on the left is a rack & pinion drive with 1/16" of backlash, minimum. Page 601, current grizzly catalog. I'd like to get a knee mill, but to get that table travel and variable speed in a knee is $6500. So a question, if anyone has one of these, can that z drive be tightened up enough to just put a motor via a timing belt gear reduction right on the handle shaft? The GO704 looks like a great deal, but I hear bad things about the head and motor, and it doesn't have enough iron in its frame for serious metal carving. The 762 OTOH weighs in at about 740 lbs and the motor is rated at 1.5 hp, light, but usable with an R-8 spindle. But the screw costs to put good screws in the 762 _should_ be similar to the 704 costwise. I've not trolled fleabay for screw and motor mount kits for the 762, so lets do that. No hits. Several for the GO704 though. The 704/BF20 kits are just north of $700 USD. Does anyone know what bfXX equ this GO762 machine is? Thanks all.
