we have another sony scale with a smaller rod
it shows a guide sleeve inside the read head
so
we built a nylon sleeve to fit over the rod and inside the read head
this stabilized the signal but it looks as if we are still missing a channel
I wonder if there was a ferrite (or something else) sleeve between two guide
sleeves.

I am trying to find a read head

I will get it running using the encoder feed back from the motor. When I
find a read head I will install the scale.
