aaah yea i did this from MDI,
this is a shame if emc does not store current tool into a paramiter 
looks like i need to keep a perm record in plc some how then.

so what you are saying is
iocontrol.0.tool-number will be zero on startup regardles of the last 
tool from the last sesion
