"it seems that during loading of the RTAI part something bad happens to the kernel (kernel oops), I also notice you have more than 1G RAM on that box, try booting with the option mem=900M (you can pass the option to grub before starting the LiveCD). Or alternatively try taking out some RAM out of the box (to make it <1G). The problem is probably caused by the RTAI version on the CD and a bug with >1G. If the mem=900M makes it work"
I found this snippet using Google that was posted 10/28/2008. They were seeing that the real time system did not load. ... I don't know for sure that is what is happening here, but it might be something to try. I know Linux works with more than 1G, but RTAI might have an issue still. I hope this helps, Jack Alex Joni wrote: > If there is, I'd be happy to hear about it.. > > Regards, > Alex > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jack Coats" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "Enhanced Machine Controller (EMC)" <[email protected]> > Sent: Friday, November 21, 2008 5:48 PM > Subject: Re: [Emc-users] First try with Ted's Sample > > > >> Is there still an issue with running with more than 1G of RAM? >> >> > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge > Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes > Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world > http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ > _______________________________________________ > Emc-users mailing list > [email protected] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
