I think you can check your CD with md5sum (man md5sum) from the command line. Sometimes video drivers will change or are added between releases. Check the bottom half of this link: http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emcinfo.pl?TroubleShooting Does your generic Ubuntu 8.04 CD run properly? The bottom half of this link describes installing EMC2 on an existing 8.04 system: http://linuxcnc.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=4&lang=en It also has a reference to md5sum. -- Kirk Wallace (California, USA http://www.wallacecompany.com/machine_shop/ Hardinge HNC/EMC CNC lathe, Bridgeport mill conversion, doing XY now, Zubal lathe conversion pending Craftsman AA 109 restoration Shizuoka ST-N/EMC CNC) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
