Hi, Bastien, Sorry for not keeping up, busy days. First, thanks for doing this work! A solution is needed for the oversized FAQ ToC. We've been discussing things like making the menu collapsible (which might be useful for other pages as well), but this looks fresher, as well as more helpful on mobile. Three questions and one opinion. 1. What does the CLI do? >From your original post: > If users find it useful and if Christian and Ihor agree, I propose to > set up a small cron job on the server to produce this interface every > hour or so. I see that the org-faq.html page contains the full content of the FAQ and the magic is done by CSS and JS, which I haven't had time to delve into. But what does the CLI script do that a cron job is needed for? 2. Switch back to standard? Besides switching between viewing by category / full list, would it be hard to add a switch back to the standard view? (Some will find it at least occasionally helpful to have a full hierarchical ToC and a full-text search where you can see the immediate context of the terms you search for.) 3. Numbering / referencing With regard to the questions raised by Gregor about numbering (https://list.orgmode.org/[email protected]) and the further discussion about date-added numbering (https://list.orgmode.org/[email protected]): I agree with you that numbering should be kept out of your views and that numbering by date is confusing (without conveying all that much helpful information). Since numbering changes, references to the FAQ should preferably use permalinks (custom IDs). Your solution makes those helpfully available at a click, so no further action is needed. Regards, Christian
