You need a hook. Like any strong start to a screenplay. Think "Raiders of the Lost Ark." Do you know of anyone who left the theater after that opening sequence? Me neither.
All of the tutorials and classes are useful once hooked but not as the hook. Know your target audience. Ask the younger hams what got them hooked.
