I had a Shure 444D desk mike and it is a great microphone. I used in on HW-101, 
Drake TR-4, Kachina 505 DSP and Icom 756PROII.  I have since migrated to Heil 
and use it (boom microphone & headphones) with my venerable upgraded K3.
