Good Evening,
The sun remains quite active. Solar flux is above 200 and the
sunspot number is over 160. However, the large group from last week is
no longer facing our way so the CMEs should slow down for a while.
Hopefully there will be better propagation tomorrow than that of the
last few weeks.
The ferns are growing rapidly. The bracken fern were only a foot
tall a week ago, now they are six feet and taller. Just today I noticed
they are starting to unroll. The forest is very green with new leaves.
New growth on the fir trees showed up today too. Those deer will be
back soon to prune that growth from the lower branches. The sprouting
sword fern are preparing new mats to keep sleeping deer above the wet
forest floor.
