Good Evening,

   It has been an interesting week.  Trees kept collapsing from the snow load.  They take out the power lines causing day long power outages.  Power would come back on, last an hour or so, and go out again for another twelve hours.  Wind is kicking up right now so I may or may not have power for tomorrow's nets.  The forecast is for 37 degrees F so it is a race between the wind and the thaw.  However, I have improved my wood stove cooking techniques.  I have also read my way through about a foot of the magazine stack.

  The sun has calmed down for the new year.  The sunspot number is half of what it was last week but the flux index is still over 100.  There is some auroral activity so QSB will be present.  The kinglets have returned.  The snow cover lets me identify them more easily.  They are exploiting the same bushes they were last month, only now they're covered with snow.  All the branches are covered with snow so birds jostle for preferred perches.  Or they misjudge the snow for the solid part of the branch, foiling their perfect landing.  The deer and elk are easier to see too.

all nearness pauses, while a star can grow

all distance breathes a final dream of bells;
perfectly outlined against afterglow
are all amazing and the peaceful hills

and history immeasurably is
wealthier by a single sweet day’s death:
as not imagined secrecies comprise

goldenly huge whole the upfloating moon.
