Good Evening,
Snow and rain alternated this week. One day snow line would be
above me, the next 1000 feet below me. Then the county crowned the
gravel roads. It feels like driving on freshly poured concrete with
four flat tires. Due to all the clear cuts there is little left to slow
your descent into a local canyon. Driving through dense fog makes life
even more interesting :)
The sun has slowed its awakening, three days without a spot. However,
the back side has been active. Next week should see some active groups
appearing. Low solar activity along with winter conditions provide
quieter bands. Slower QSB too. 160 meters should be even better than
last week. I received an antenna switch yesterday. Now to build a few
more antennas with the parts I've collected over the summer. I have
four broken antennas lying next to the driveway. They will make fine
radials.
