Doug ~~

Here is what I found:

When I first hooked up the K3/0 it was sitting on the desk next to the K3/100,
and everything *seemed* to work the first time.

But, I had not switched the K3/100 mic to rear panel. I just plugged
everything in and powered it up. So, when I press XMIT on the k3/0, the K3/0
keyed the K3/100, and I thought I was talking into the mic hooked up to the
K3/0, but in reality the audio was being picked up by the mic hooked to the
K3/100, which was just laying on the table, picking up my voice. (I purchase
an extra mic so I could leave it with the K3/0.

So, when I brought the K3/0 up to my home office, no audio. This was because
of two things -- the K3/100 was still set for the mic audio to be front panel,
and I was pressing XMIT on the K3/0.

So, I conclude that pressing the XMIT switch on the 0 just is not working for
SSB. It keys the radio, but it will not allow the audio to pass. When I use
the PTT on the mic, with the 0 set to front panel, and the 100 set to rear
panel, it works. (I have discovered if I unplug the RS232 from the K3/0 I can
bring the 0 menu up. The Mic was correctly set on the 0 to front panel.)

I have also discovered that pressing LOCK on the 0 locks the 100, but the 0
still can change the frequency. Perhaps a few bugs, but it is really a nice
setup.

Thanks for your help and interest.
