Are the voltage readings good (compare with the chart in the back of the K2 manual). If the menu works, enter CAL FCTR and use the counter probe to see if you have VFO and BFO oscillators running? Is their frequency correct? Continue with this process until you can narrow the field of potential places to look for the failure. Hi Ian, I would echo what Don has to say plus if you are having to get down to serious signal tracing it may be better to get down to the basic K2, remove the KSB2 and fit C167 (0.001uf) on tails to J11 pins 7 to 12, shorting links on J9/J10 pins 1 to 3. The KSB2 RFC1/2 can stop things working if they short to the xtal cans.
