Ian, My K2/100 #3255 suddenly died a couple of months ago. It had been listening on 28.200 MHz for several hours, no transmit, which it had done before often. None of the front panel controls (except the DC ON / OFF ) including the tuning control worked, and no audio. The display showed the last "working" frequency i.e. 28.200, and the wretched thing sat there grinning like Cheshire Cat. Turning off DC power for a few mins made no difference. Turning off power for about seven hours, and then back on, resulted in normal operation for about a minute - then back to not working as before. So I turned off DC power, and left it. About 15 hours later, turned on DC power and everything was working as normal and has been ever since.
My conclusion is that something in the firmware got itself muddled up, and somehow got sorted after a rest. It was not a hardware fault. For what it's worth. Good luck es 73, Geoff.
