Hi

If the Kenwood has a low level transverter output then you can set up the 
jumpers for 0 to 1 MW input. Another option would be to build a 50 ohm 3 db 
power attenuator on the output of the Kenwood. There are several designs in the 
back of the ARRL handbook. The low level out is the best way to do if the 
Kenwood has it and I think it does.

  I'm helping a friend out who bought a 222 transverter from Elecraft but
  wants to use it with his TS850S.  The 850 will only go down to 9 watts and
