the late Montgomery Ward wanted the delivery date and time in their ASNs. I
found that they could not accept the delivery date and time being the same as
the shipment date and time, because there was no provision for a "shared"
shipping/loading dock (we opened a locked gate to "ship.")
If the rumors I've heard are true, you may not have been the first to recognize
'Notepad' as a powerful EDI development tool.
Nearly twenty years ago, I wrote an EDI translator and WMS in the then-popular
"Paradox" -- and have used it as a backup/editor, see what they're really
sending/receiving with the ability to edit, fix UPC/GTINs, renumber/reprint 128
labels and even garment hangtags. I still use it (being a bit past my planned
retirement age because the housing market has so terrible for a few years and
not willing to take a loss for a mere lake <g>).
