We offer 10 spots on the US side and 10 for German participants. *The deadline for completing the application is March 31*. The program consists of two weeks in 2025, one week in Germany in June and one week in the United States in October. If possible, we would like to encourage you to join us for both the June and October programs. GANBASE aims to exchange approaches and experiences; to present excellent research and lighthouse projects from Germany; to demonstrate the integration of NbS into local, regional and national policy; and to draw attention to the economic and socio-political aspects of NbS. Who should apply? GANBASE is looking for researchers, including graduate and PhD students, practitioners from municipal, regional and state-level governments, nonprofit organizations and businesses working in the field of NbS. The first program will take place *June 15 - June 20* in Northern Germany (Bremen-region and Hanover). The second week will be in October, most likely the week of October 6 on the Gulf Coast / Bayou region (New Orleans and Houston). Each week will consist of workshops, field visits and cultural encounters. Participants will be asked to prepare a presentation and an article as well as participate in blogs, vlogs and podcasts. Thanks to a generous grant by the German government, we can cover almost the entire travel costs. We will provide: - travel to the program from your home - accommodation for the duration of the program (individual rooms) - meals - local transportation - any entrance or visitor fees Participants are kindly asked to contribute a co-payment. The co-payment is meant to cover the gap between our funding and the program costs. Co-payment for international travel: 1,000 EUR or 1,045 USD Co-payment for domestic travel: 500 EUR or 523 USD The international payment applies to participants from the US going to Germany or for participants going from Germany to the US. The domestic co-payment applies to participants from Germany joining the German program and to participants from the US joining the US program. We will make accommodations for any special needs.
